Power Inverters
1.Whta is a power inverters
A Solar inverter or PV inverter is a type of electrical inverter that is made to convert DC power or direct current to standard AC power or alternating current from a photovoltaic array into alternating current
(AC) for use with home appliances and possibly a utility grid.
2.How to size a power inverters?
power inverters comes in many models that vary in watts. The amount of wattage you will require on yours depends on the total draw of the devices you'd like to use. If you have a two-outlet inverter and will be plugging in 2 devices at once, add up the total wattage of both devices then add at least 50% more to account for peaks or spikes in the power draw. For example if your DVD theater draws 100 watts and your laptop another 100 watts, a minimum 300-watt inverter is recommended.
When using your solar inverter continuously inside a vehicle that is not running, the engine should be started at least once an hour for 10-15 minutes to keep the battery from discharging. WARNING: Do not start a vehicle in a closed garage as the carbon monoxide in the exhaust is fatal. Power inverters operate on the assumption that the battery is in good condition and fully charged. A weak battery will be drained easily if demands are too high. This could leave you stranded so be sure to check the battery's condition before using a power inverter in a stationary vehicle. If the solar inverter is being used while the vehicle is running as in the case of a road trip, there should be no problem with the extra draw providing the battery is in good condition.
3.Two different types of power inverters
power inverters produce one of two different types of wave output:
* Modified Square Wave (Modified Sine Wave)
* Pure Sine Wave (True Sine Wave)
Modified Sine Wave power inverters
Modified Sine Wave power inverters are better in typical solar applications when electric motors are not involved. They are not quite as efficient as pure sine wave inverters, but you'll find that they are much more affordable. Unlike pure sine wave inverters, modified sine wave intverters produce a stepped waveform, which isn't really a sine wave at all.
Because the current is not alternating perfectly, the stepped waveform of the modified sine wave inverter causes the inverter to generate an irritating buzz. Take this into careful consideration when purchasing an inverter.
Pure Sine Wave power inverters
pure sine wave power inverters are very efficient and have a very accurate waveform to the pure sine wave. pure sine wave inverters are a little more pricey than modified sine wave inverters because of the reduced noise and their strong compatibility with certain devices, such as electric motors. This is the better option if you value silence, or want optimal performance from electric motors, such as those found in an electric water pump.
The solar power inveters including pure sine wave inverters, modified sine wave inverters.Rating from 80W to 6000W,DC12-24-48V to AC110-220V 50HZ.Portable pure sine wave inverters,Car inverters and Inverters with built in controllers.
